How to get there
Hacienda La Laguna Olive Oil Tourism + Guided Tour of the Museum + Introductory Workshop on Olive Oil Tasting
14.90 €
The olive tree is undoubtedly the main symbol of the province of Jaén. The best way to learn about the essence of its culture since ancient times is to visit the Olive Tree Museum. This iconic place is located on a historic 17th-century estate.
With the guided tour of the museum, you can discover, accompanied by a specialized guide, the different areas of the museum, including the garden with more than 30 different varieties of olive trees, the operation of the original ancient milling and pressing systems from the late 19th century, along with other tools and implements used in the countryside. Finally, you can visit "La Catedral del Aceite" (The Oil Cathedral), the oil mill's cellar, which was declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1992.
After visiting the museum, we will hold an introductory oil tasting workshop, where we will learn to recognize the main organoleptic characteristics of oils by putting ourselves in the shoes of professional tasters. We will provide all the necessary materials (tasting sheets, pencils, apples, water, tasting glasses).
